Four Maryland men face burglary charges after Fairfax County detectives linked them to a spree targeting homes left empty by fires.
The Fairfax County Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division (CID) announced the charges Wednesday, Oct. 28, in a statement posted to the department's news site. Detectives connected the four suspects to five burglaries at four residences across the Reston, Fair Oaks and West Springfield police districts between November 2025 and July 2026.
Each home had been damaged by fire and was unoccupied when the suspects entered.
The first reported break-in occurred Nov. 11, 2025, in the 1500 block of Shellbark Place in Reston. Family members returned to find someone had broken into the home and damaged their gun safe. Nothing was stolen that time. The same suspects returned Nov. 23, 2025, according to police, and took the gun safe and a Porsche Macan from the driveway. The vehicle was later located in Maryland.
Three more burglaries followed at fire-damaged homes: in the 4400 block of San Carlos Drive in Fair Oaks on May 1, 2026; in the 11300 block of Bulova Lane in Fair Oaks on May 20, 2026; and in the 9200 block of Blue Steel Way in West Springfield on July 12, 2026. Across the five incidents, police said suspects stole cash, a guitar, headphones, jewelry, perfume and purses in addition to the gun safe and vehicle.
Detectives reviewed video footage and digital evidence to link the cases. Working with law enforcement in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Loudoun County, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), they recovered stolen property, including firearms taken during the Nov. 23 Shellbark Place burglary.
The four suspects and their charges:
- Christian Webb, 24, of Maryland: five counts of burglary, two counts of destruction of property, grand larceny and auto theft. He is being held awaiting extradition from Pennsylvania.
- Emanuel Thomas, 35, of Maryland: four counts of burglary, two counts of destruction of property, grand larceny and auto theft. He is being held in Maryland.
