Abdulloi Toshpulodzoda, found not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2019 stabbing death of his Vienna landlord, fled the U.S. on a one-way flight to Tajikistan on July 6 after the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute granted him a 48-hour pass.

Fairfax County Public Schools is accepting public comments through Monday, Sept. 7 on a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Fairfax County Police Department governing school resource officers at local schools including James Madison High.

Weapons screening, clear-bag rules set for Madison, Oakton football games

FCPS will screen all spectators with weapons detection technology at varsity football games this fall, including at James Madison and Oakton, and enforce a clear-bag-only policy; the district also banned personal devices during school hours and adopted new physical math textbooks for grades 6-12.
