Three award-winning solo performers are sharing the stage at 1st Stage through Sunday, Aug. 30, with tickets at $20 a seat in the intimate 110-seat theater just off Spring Hill Road.

The 9th annual Logan Festival of Solo Performance, which opened Thursday, Aug. 20, runs nightly at 1524 Spring Hill Road in Tysons. The festival features rotations of three one-person shows, each running about an hour, with post-show discussions on select dates.

The lineup includes Baron Vaughn in "Cycle Breaker," a show originally commissioned by Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, N.Y. Vaughn is known for playing Bud on Netflix's "Grace & Frankie" alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, and for voicing Tom Servo on "Mystery Science Theater 3000." Director Aysan Celik helms the production.

Diana Gitelman performs "It Ends With Guinea Pigs," directed by Faline England. The show won Best One Woman Show at the United Solo Theatre Festival in New York and sold out a run at the Elysian Theater in Los Angeles. The 1st Stage run marks its Washington, D.C.-area premiere.

Then there's Ronald Rand. He rounds out the festival with "LET IT BE ART! Harold Clurman's Life of Passion," a show he has performed for 26 years across five continents, 29 countries and 21 U.S. states. In 2025, Rand received the Best Actor Award at the 26th International Monodrama Festival in North Macedonia.

Festival co-sponsor Eileen Mandell wrote in the festival playbill that solo shows "must be the bravest form of being on stage. Just one actor and the audience. No one else with whom to share dialogue."

All performances on Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30, are open captioned, and assistive listening devices are available at every show. Accessibility services are supported by the McLean Community Foundation and ARTSFAIRFAX.
