Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews contained a garage fire at a three-story townhouse in the Kingstowne area on Monday, preventing the blaze from spreading through the rest of the building.

Units responded just after 10 a.m. to the 5800 block of Iron Willow Court after reports of a fire involving the townhouse's garage, the department said on its official Facebook page. Firefighters kept the majority of the fire limited to the garage and the single residential unit where it started.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The department's Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

The department has not released a damage estimate or confirmed whether residents of the affected townhouse were displaced.

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department operates 39 fire stations across the county and serves communities including Vienna and surrounding areas. The department's Fire Marshal's Office handles all fire origin and cause investigations in Fairfax County.
