Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid cited Fairfax County Public Schools' Pyramid Art Shows during a School Board meeting in June as an example of community partnerships.
During the Thursday, June 25, meeting, Reid discussed Pillar B: Vibrant Home, School and Community Partnerships, under the district's 2023-30 strategic plan.
The shows display student artwork from elementary, middle and high schools within each feeder pyramid. For Vienna families, that means students at Thoreau Middle School, which feeds into both the Madison and Oakton pyramids, participate in exhibitions alongside classmates from across grade levels.
School Board member Melanie Meren, representing the Hunter Mill District, promoted the Madison pyramid's most recent show at Madison High School in April, calling it "one way to support our public schools."
FCPS has not announced dates for the 2026-27 pyramid art show cycle. The shows have historically been held in spring. Families can watch for details through school newsletters and fcps.edu.
