Our Lady of Good Counsel is recruiting sponsors and volunteers for the 25th Annual Golf Classic, a tuition-assistance fundraiser set for Monday, Nov. 2, at Westwood Country Club in Vienna.
The parish's Office of Advancement said in a Sept. 7 announcement that the event has funded tuition assistance for a quarter century, helping OLGC School families who cannot afford full tuition at the kindergarten-through-eighth-grade Blue Ribbon school.
That assistance matters. For the 2026–2027 school year, annual K-8 tuition at OLGC starts at $11,140 for registered parishioners and $15,290 for non-registered families, according to the school's admissions page.
In its fiscal year 2022 annual report, OLGC said the school awarded more than $100,000 in financial aid and teacher discounts that year. The same report described the Golf Classic as one of the fundraisers the school relies on to balance its budget. Current-year assistance totals have not been published.
Player spots have sold out in prior years, and remaining golf spots are available through sponsorships, according to the parish's Golf Classic page. Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring can contact the Office of Advancement at [email protected].
Volunteers can sign up at sugeni.us/UYnZ.
OLGC Catholic Community encompasses more than 3,700 families in Vienna and is administered by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, according to a 2022 Diocese of Arlington profile. The school was established in 1957.
