Vienna Oktoberfest returns to Church Street on Saturday, Oct. 3, with three music stages, a business expo and a beer and wine garden stretching across four blocks.

The 17th annual festival will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along Church Street, Dominion Road, Mill Street and the Town Green. Organizers told Patch the event will be the largest in its history. The festival has drawn 30,000 to 35,000 people in past years.

Admission is free. There is no rain date.

Three stages will host live music and performers throughout the day. One stage is dedicated to kids, according to the festival's website. Inflatables and games will fill the Town Green, and a Kids Zone inside the beer garden offers free activities for children while parents grab a drink.

The beer and wine garden features three local vendors: Caboose Brewing Company, Norm's Beer and Wine and Vienna Vintner. Drink tickets cost $8 each or four for $30.

Beyond the taps, a vendor and artisans market will line the streets. A business expo will showcase Vienna-area businesses alongside the festival's craft and food offerings.

The Vienna Business Association (VBA) and the Town of Vienna present the festival. Proceeds benefit the VBA Foundation, which funds charitable organizations across the Greater Vienna area.

Getting there

No festival-specific parking lots are available. A free shuttle runs from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with stops at Vienna Metro North on the Orange Line, James Madison High School, Ayr Hill and Dominion, and the W&OD Trail at Church Street. Uber and Lyft riders can use a drop-off point at 215 Mill St. NE.

Cyclists can pedal in on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail and park bikes near the festival entrance.
