Costumed kids packed the Vienna Town Green on Saturday, Oct. 17, for the town's free annual Halloween on the Green.
The morning started under gray skies, but the weather improved as the two-hour event went on. The Town of Vienna said on X that "even gray skies couldn't keep the kids away," describing a large turnout of children in costume.
The Vienna Parks and Recreation Department ran the event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 144 Maple Ave. E. Kids made spooky crafts, watched a live animal show, played games for prizes, grabbed treats and decorated their own pumpkins, according to the town's event page. Silver Diner of Tysons and Whole Body Health Chiropractic sponsored the event.
Vienna's Halloween Parade, a free tradition since 1946, is set for Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Maple Avenue between Branch Road and Center Street S.
