Carolina Parker cut the ribbon on her new waxing and skincare business at 401 Maple Ave. E on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Brazilian Wax Honey Pot specializes in Brazilian, full-body and facial waxing along with skincare services, according to the Town of Vienna's economic development page. Parker, a beauty professional, owns and operates the shop herself.
Nicole Toulouse, director of economic development for the Town of Vienna, said on the town's website that the new business adds a specialized service to Vienna's existing cluster of salons, spas and personal-care shops. Toulouse said the shop represents the kind of locally owned small-business investment that strengthens the town's commercial mix.
Vienna's sense of community was a major factor in Parker's decision to open on Maple Avenue, she said on the town's page. The town's combination of families, professionals and small businesses made it a fit for a shop built around client relationships, Parker said.
Parker told the town she is focused on building a client base in Vienna while keeping the personalized approach that shaped the business from the start. She said one of the most rewarding parts of opening has been getting to know clients personally and watching many become regulars.
That personal touch is central to how the shop operates. Parker said on the town's page that she wants every client to feel respected and comfortable, and that seeing someone arrive nervous and leave confident is what makes the work worthwhile.
The shop sits in the 400 block of Maple Avenue East, part of a corridor the town has highlighted as home to a growing number of wellness and personal-care businesses.
Parker hopes to expand both the services offered and her team over time, according to the town's economic development page. Those hires would create additional jobs for beauty and wellness professionals in Vienna.
